Police digest Disco light stolen

Police are combing through surveillance video after a lighting fixture was stolen from White Horse Bowling in Simcoe.The bowling alley on Davis Street East has provided Norfolk OPP with surveillance footage from around 9 p.m. Thursday. It shows an individual taking down a disco light inside the building.Police are reviewing the video in an effort to identify the individual responsible.Impaired charge following crashA Norfolk man was charged last week following a collision on the west side of Simcoe.A 35-year-old Tillsonburg man was stopped at a red light at the intersection of Hillcrest Road and the Queensway West when a pickup truck came up from behind and struck the rear of his vehicle.Following an investigation, Norfolk OPP charged a 52-year-old Norfolk man with impaired driving, operating a motor vehicle with a blood-alcohol content in excess of the legal limit, and careless driving.Pickup trucks stolen in NorfolkA pickup truck stolen in Simcoe last week was recovered at a property east of Waterford on Wednesday.Unfortunately for the person who found the missing truck, their pickup was stolen in turn and also reported missing.Police were alerted to the situation around 3:30 p.m. last Wednesday. The missing vehicle is a silver-coloured 2007 Chevrolet Silverado with a silver cap.Norfolk OPP are investigating.Stolen vehicle left to idleA vehicle reported stolen in London last week was left to idle in a Simcoe parking lot for nearly nine hours.A local resident noticed the 2004 Impala idling in a parking lot on Donly Drive North around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday. This person contacted police when they noticed the same vehicle idling in place around 10:15 p.m.Following an investigation, Norfolk OPP determined the Impala had earlier been reported stolen in London.Cell phone stolen at hospitalA cell phone was reported stolen at Norfolk General Hospital this weekend.The phone was taken from a hospital room sometime between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. Saturday. During this time, the victim was away from their room.Norfolk OPP are investigating.
